SARA
After an unseen encounter with her former abusive partner, SARA (20s) must fight her way through a sensory debilitating dissociative episode.
SARA is an experimental horror film posing the question, what do you do when fear overcomes your senses? Inspired by the creative team's own experiences with anxiety, depression, dissociation, and fear, this piece seeks to visualize an extreme dissociative episode. Clear plastic wrap is used as a visual representation for anxiety, and is meant to illustrate the layer between yourself and your surroundings that grows thicker with panic. But what happens when that layer becomes so thick you cannot distinguish between what's real, and what isn't?
